At the end of the valley, behind dark yew forests, lies Finstersee. Dark stories are told about this place
the once clear green lake is said to have changed color after a crime. Two people are stranded here, involuntarily chained together, dreaming of more: Elsie, who makes the world stand still with her violin, wants to go to the music academy in Florence. And Jakob wants nothing more than a horse with which he can set up a haulage business. But in a hostile environment, their dreams turns into a deadly poison.
The play, based on the novel "Jakobs Ross" by Silvia Tschui, takes us into the heart of a perpetual conflict in the middle of the Swiss mountains - with music and dialect, but without folklore. An evening that tells of the uncanny and the violence at the dawn of modernity.
